Bowmore 16 Year Old Darkness is an Islay single malt from the Darkness range, in which independent bottler Atom Brands finishes whisky in small, handmade sherry octave casks. This bottling was finished in Moscatel sherry octaves, which usually hold around 50 litres.
The smaller casks bring more contact between spirit and wood, and the Moscatel finish is said to make this malt particularly rich and intense. It is bottled at 47.5% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colour, in a 50cl bottle.
