Bowmore – 18 Year Old (70cl)

Bowmore 18 Year Old is an Islay single malt from the distillery on the shores of Loch Indaal, matured for eighteen years in Oloroso sherry casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and ex-bourbon barrels. It comes in a 70cl bottle. Peat smoke is the distillery's signature, and here it sits alongside dark chocolate, ripe fruit and wood oils. The colour is mahogany, with a full-bodied, soft texture. On the nose, peat smoke is softened by caramel, toffee, nectarines and dark chocolate. The palate brings dark chocolate, candied orange and toasted almonds, and the finish is long and warm, with wood spice, dried citrus peel and a little maritime smoke.
