Bowmore 18 Years Old is a single malt from the Islay distillery, bottled at 43% ABV. It was introduced to replace the older 17-year-old expression and has since become a settled part of the Bowmore range.
It is a perfumed, fruity and complex whisky. The nose is full, with citrus, stewed fruit, hints of damp wood and very soft smoke. The palate starts full and powerful, then moves to perfume, fruit and plum jam, with good sweetness, peat smoke and a grape-like note. The finish brings Seville marmalade, blossom and dark peat.
