Bowmore 1969/2021 is a 50 year old Islay single malt, distilled in 1969 and bottled in 2021 at 46.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a combination of American oak casks and Spanish oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. Only 339 bottles were filled, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered.
On the nose are freesia, dried geranium and lily of the valley, with Chablis, citrus fruit and gooseberry, then sweet acacia honey. The palate is dry and floral at first, with cloves, moving to lemon meringue, toasted almonds and light caramel cream. The finish is lightly sweet and warm, with subtle floral and malty notes.
