A Bowmore single malt distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2013 after 23 years in Port casks. It is a cask strength bottling at 50.8% in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 12,000 bottles worldwide.
The nose is smoky, with candied orange, stewed plums, black cherries and dark chocolate. On the palate the smoke is stronger still while the fruit stays intact, bringing blood orange, violets, heather and the sweetness of honey. A hint of pepper leads into a long, powerful, smoky finish.
