This is Bowmore 21 Year Old from the Sherry Oak Cask collection, which the distillery introduced in 2024 with an emphasis on different sherry casks. It is an Islay single malt.
The whisky combines spirit matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in first-fill PX sherry casks.
The nose brings tobacco leaves, heather, toffee, treacle and beeswax. On the palate there is sweetness, barbecued meat and red berries with a hint of salty smoke. The finish is rounded, with sweet oak and gentle smoke.
