Bowmore 21 Years Sherry Oak is an Islay single malt from the distillery's Sherry Oak series. It matured in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then received a finish in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask.
The character is intense and layered, with sherry and smoke sitting together.
The nose brings tobacco leaf, heather, iodine and warming ginger, with tanned leather, toffee and beeswax. Sweet toffee, vanilla, orange and cinnamon lead the palate, and the finish is long and spicy, with gentle smoke.
