This is a 22 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, in a 70cl bottle at 51% ABV. It is the third edition of the collaboration between Bowmore and Aston Martin.
The whisky matured in European oak casks that had held Oloroso sherry, together with American oak hogsheads. The result is a dense, mature malt with sweet fruit, nuts, dark spice and a gentle peat smoke.
The nose is led by lemon peel, peach, vanilla, caramel, roasted chestnuts, leather and oak. On the palate it is full and robust, with cocoa beans, raisins, muscovado sugar, red berries and nuts. The finish is long, with oak spice, light sweetness and a salty, maritime note.
