Bowmore – 22 Year Old Aston Martin Masters Selection 3rd Edition (51%)

This is a 22 year old Bowmore single malt, the third edition of the Aston Martin Masters Selection. Released in 2023, it carries on the collaboration between Bowmore master blender Ron Welsh and Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman. The whisky was matured in European oak oloroso sherry casks and American oak hogsheads, then bottled at 51%. The nose is rich and sweet, opening with lemon peel, poached peaches and vanilla before moving to molasses, salted toffee, old oak, roasted chestnuts and soft leather. On the palate it is sherried and nutty, with cocoa beans, sun-dried raisins, muscovado sugar, red berries and a layer of peat smoke. The finish is long and sweet, with lingering oak spice and sea salt.
