Bowmore – 23 Years 'No Corners to Hide' (70cl, 51.5%)

This is Bowmore No Corners to Hide, a 23-year-old Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle at 51.5% ABV. It is the first chapter of the Frank Quitely Series, a collaboration between the graphic artist and Bowmore's Master Blender, and it pays homage to the Devil, a legend that has shaped the village of Bowmore. The whisky matured first in American oak hogsheads, then moved into Essencia barriques made from rare Rose Oak dating back to the 1830s. 6666 bottles were released in 2021. The nose brings incense, beeswax and a struck match, while Bowmore's subtle peat smoke, brine and oak linger on the finish.
