Bowmore 25 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
The whisky spent its 25 years in Bowmore's No. 1 Vaults, on the shore of Loch Indaal and partly below sea level. The bourbon casks support vanilla and sweetness, while the sherry adds fruit, spice and depth. The distillery was founded in 1779.
The nose is ripe sherry, light fruit and fine vanilla, with a restrained note of Bowmore smoke.
