Bowmore 25 Year Old is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 25 years in a combination of North American ex-bourbon casks and Spanish sherry casks. It sets Bowmore's coastal peat smoke against the sweeter influence of the sherry, in a 75cl bottle.
The nose brings stewed fruits, dark raisins and sweet sherry alongside butterscotch, toffee and a light trace of wood smoke. On the palate there is sweet toffee, roasted hazelnuts and dark chocolate, with hints of iron, a saline note and soft peat smoke. The finish is long and warm, with singed cocoa, sweet wood spice and dry leather.
