This is a 27 year old Bowmore from the Timeless Series, an official distillery bottling from Islay. The whisky matured in Bowmore's warehouses, and a deep sherry influence sits alongside the distillery's smoke. Bottled at 52.7% ABV in its natural mahogany colour, it is limited to 3,000 bottles.
On the nose, tasting notes mention concentrated plum jam, currants and grilled orange peel, with spice and smoked seaweed. The palate brings chestnut honey, fresh leather and roasted coffee beans alongside sweet peat smoke and dark fruit. The finish is long, with dried fruit, incense and a light maritime smoke.
