This is a 27 year old single malt from Bowmore on Islay, an official bottling in the Timeless Series. It is limited to 3,000 bottles and bottled at 52.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent its first 15 years in bourbon and sherry casks, then a further 12 years in Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose brings stewed plums, currants and dark fruit with a clear Oloroso influence. The palate combines caramel, maple syrup, liquorice and orange peel with smoked seaweed and peat smoke. The finish is long and robust, with sweet fruit, smoke and dry oak.
