Bowmore – 30 Year Old Sherry Hogsheads & Bourbon Barrels Edition 2021 (70cl, 45.1%)

This is the 2021 edition of Bowmore 30 Year Old, an Islay single malt bottled at 45.1% in a 70cl bottle. Only 2,976 bottles were filled. It was matured for thirty years in a combination of sherry hogsheads and bourbon barrels. Bowmore was founded by David Simson in 1779 on the shore of Loch Indaal. Part of its malt is still made on its own malting floors and dried over peat fires. The whisky is described as showing exotic fruit, heather honey and vanilla, with a fine note of smoke and maritime depth.
