This is a 30-year-old Bowmore single malt from Islay, the 2022 edition, bottled at 45.3% in a 70cl bottle. It spent three decades maturing in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, and the edition is limited to 2,556 bottles.
The nose offers tropical fruit such as mango and pineapple, with sweet vanilla, honey and a light maritime saltiness. On the palate it is complex and velvety, with dried fruit, dark chocolate, toffee, tobacco and fine oak, woven together with Bowmore's typical smoke. The finish is long and warm, balanced between sweetness, spice and smoke.
