Bowmore – 40 Year Old 2023 Release (70cl, 45.1%)

A 40 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 45.1%. This release takes its inspiration from the distillery's seafront setting, and from the colours and textures of Islay's ancient stone and bleached driftwood. It is a limited release of 159 bottles worldwide, and the whisky has a deep mahogany colour. The nose offers honey, treacle and exotic fruits with beeswax and caramel. On the palate come pipe tobacco and chocolate, with spices, leather, chestnuts and pralines, leading to a long, lingering finish.
