This is an 8 year old Bowmore single malt from Islay, bottled at 40% ABV in a 757ml bottle under the Sherriff's Bowmore name.
The nose combines tropical fruit, with lemon, ripe mango and other citrus, and a distinctly coastal side of sea salt, fresh shellfish and brine. Spiced wood and a balsamic smoke sit underneath.
On the palate it is fresh, crisp and silky rather than aggressively smoky, with lime, lemon, lemon butter, salt and an oily peat. The finish is sweet and dry together, recalling limoncello, bitter orange peel and cigar ash.
