Bowmore 9 Years Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 40% ABV. It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak casks and European oak Oloroso sherry casks, then blended before bottling.
The nose combines dark chocolate, sweet dried fruit and Islay smoke with a fine maritime spiciness. The palate offers red fruit, sweet and spicy oak and caramel syrup. The finish is strong and complex, with light sherry and soft peat smoke.
