Bowmore – Springtide (70cl, 54.9%)

Bowmore Springtide is an Islay single malt bottled in 2012 at 54.9%, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled during a spring tide, when the earth, sun and moon line up, and matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Bowmore was built in 1779 and is the oldest distillery on Islay. This expression is rich in chocolate and sticky figs, set against the classic salty peat character. The palate brings syrupy toffee, raisins and dark sherry, and the finish is smoky and lasting.
