This is a 26 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, a distillery bottling in the Vintner's Trilogy series, in a 70cl bottle at 48.7% ABV. It spent 13 years in ex-bourbon barrels and a further 13 years in wine barriques.
The nose is full and sweet, with herbs, honey, berries, apricot, ripe mango, milk chocolate and a little vanilla, with gentle peat smoke behind. On the palate it is soft and oily, with noticeable wood. The finish is very long, fruity and vanilla-led, with some dark chocolate, almonds and old oak.
