Bowmore – Vault Edition 2nd Release (70cl, 50.1%)

This is the second release in Bowmore's four-part Vault Edition series, an Islay single malt bottled at 50.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is the smoky chapter of the series and matured in bourbon and sherry casks. The series is named after Bowmore's No. 1 Vaults, a warehouse built in 1779 with cellars below sea level, where casks rest in the sea air. The nose combines peat, rich ash, caramel and leather with thyme, rosemary and mint. The palate shows sweet cherry, overripe fruit, smokehouse and volcanic ash. The finish is sweet and creamy with a light mineral touch.
