Bowmore – Vintage 1998 Single Cask (50.6%)

This single malt comes from Bowmore, the Islay distillery on the shores of Loch Indaal, founded in 1779. It was distilled in 1998 and bottled from a single cask at 50.6% ABV. The nose combines gentle peat, heather and sea salt with ripe fruit and a little dark chocolate. On the palate, honey, caramel and soft spice sit alongside the peat. The finish is long, with lingering peat smoke and salty notes.
