This is a Bowmore single malt distilled in April 2002 and matured for 14 years in hogsheads. It was bottled in April 2016 for Ian Macleod's Chieftain's range, and 3615 bottles were released.
Bowmore was officially founded on Islay in 1779 by the local merchant David Simpson. It is one of the three remaining Islay distilleries that still run their own traditional floor maltings.
