Braes of Glenlivet (Braeval) 46 1975/2021 Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection

This is a 46-year-old single malt from Braeval, which was known as Braes of Glenlivet when it was distilled in 1975. Gordon & MacPhail selected it at the end of 2021 for its Private Collection. It matured in a single refill American hogshead, cask number 15370, and yielded 120 bottles. It is presented in a wooden case with a deep blue and gold label. The nose shows jasmine and creamy vanilla, with nutmeg and toasted oak. The palate brings juicy apricot, red apple, dark chocolate and orange, with dry tobacco and spicy oak. The long finish carries pepper and a fresh touch of menthol.
