Braeval – 2013 10 Year Old (Hart Brothers) (70cl, 58.6%)

This Braeval is a single cask Speyside malt, distilled in January 2013 and bottled by Hart Brothers in January 2023 after ten years, at a cask strength of 58.6%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Apricot, nectarine and pear sit with honey and heather on the fruity, floral side, while black pepper, caramel and oak add spice, sweetness and structure. The nose combines spicy notes with apricot, nectarine and pear, plus honey and a touch of heather. The palate is soft and full, with clear pepper, bright fruit and a light honey and caramel sweetness. The medium to long finish brings lasting oak and wood notes, creamy sweetness and a hint of herbs.
