Brora 31 Year Old was distilled in 1972 at the Brora distillery in Sutherland, which closed in 1983, and bottled in 2003 at 49.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was selected by Douglas Laing for the Old & Rare Platinum Selection. The whisky matured for 31 years in oak casks and is bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration. The nose combines maritime notes, gentle peat smoke, waxy honeycomb, tropical fruit, coastal brine, old leather and beeswax. The palate is rich and oily, with vanilla, stewed orchard fruit, a waxy character, light smoke, sea salt and warming spice. The finish is very long, with sweet peat, dried fruit, oak spice and a touch of salinity.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
