This is the 10th Special Release Brora, a 32 year old Highland single malt distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2011 at a natural cask strength of 54.7%. It was released as an edition of 1,500 bottles. The whisky comes from refill American and European oak casks. It is medium-peated, with a nose that opens on soot and ash before moving to smoke, coal and bonfire, along with medicinal notes of camphor and antiseptic. On the palate it is strong, peaty and farmy, with pine sap, tar, liquorice and a citrus note somewhere between lemon and passion fruit. The finish is long, dry and a little peppery.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
