This Brora is a 37 year old Highland single malt from the 14th Diageo Special Release of 2015, bottled at a cask strength of 50.4% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 1977 and matured in American white oak hogsheads. Only 2,976 individually numbered bottles were filled. The distillery closed in 1983 and remained closed until 2021. The nose is soft and round, with peat like a freshly lit fire, candle wax, dry fragrant herbs, raisin cake, toasted coconut, honey and lemon zest, then butterscotch, marzipan and toffee. The palate starts syrupy and sweet before turning spicy and dry, with cocoa, dark chocolate truffle, orange zest and red berries. The finish is long and warming, with fresh herbs, roasted coffee, liquorice and tannin.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
