Brothers of the Leaf Straight Bourbon is a small-batch Kentucky bourbon, bottled at barrel proof, 56% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It is finished in toasted French oak casks from Kelvin Cooperage.
The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. The whiskey first matured in new charred American oak, then had a second maturation in the toasted French oak.
Tasting notes describe a nose of espresso beans, toasted oak and dark chocolate truffle, with burnt orange peel and dried fig. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with mocha, nutmeg and charred vanilla, and the finish is long and warming, with dark cocoa and roasted almond.
