Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is an Islay single malt made entirely from barley grown on eight local farms: Dunlossit, Kilchiaran, Starchmill, Mulindry, Cruach, Island, Rockside and Sunderland. The barley was harvested in 2012 and distilled in 2013 beside Loch Indaal. It matured in 75% first fill bourbon casks, 20% second fill sherry casks and 5% French wine casks. Bottled at 50%, it has natural colour, is non-chill filtered and is unpeated. The nose has lemon, green apple, honey and vanilla, with barley and sea salt. The palate is oily, with toffee, peach, honeycomb and light spice. The finish is long and creamy, with vanilla, citrus and a little oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
