Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014 is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 50% ABV.
The nose opens soft and fruity, with redcurrant, fresh pineapple, mango, red apple, green grape and a touch of peach. Vanilla, bourbon spice and toasted oak follow, with dark plums and dates.
On the palate, malt leads, with cereal, honey and citrus, then candied almonds, caramelised apples, nougat, banana and ginger biscuits. The finish is dry, with lingering cereal notes.
