Bruichladdich – (Lochindaal) 12 Year Old 2009 The Single Cask

This is a single cask Bruichladdich bottled by The Single Cask under the Lochindaal name, the distillery's heavily peated style of around 50ppm. It was distilled in 2009 and matured for 12 years in a first fill bourbon barrel, number 76, before being bottled in September 2021. The Lochindaal style was made at Bruichladdich between 2007 and 2009, and only around 250 casks are believed to have been filled. This barrel gave 229 individually numbered bottles. First fill bourbon wood is described as bringing vanilla, citrus and sweet oak, set against bold peat smoke and a maritime character.
