Octomore 14.3 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, the fourteenth in the distillery's heavily peated Octomore series. The barley is malted to 214.2 PPM, and the whisky is bottled at 61.4% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels and second-fill European wine casks, and bottled at cask strength without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose offers maritime peat smoke, burnt heather, sea spray, vanilla custard and charred oak. On the palate, peat smoke meets honey, citrus zest, dark chocolate, grilled pineapple and toasted malt. The finish is very long, with medicinal notes, embers, sea salt and sweet oak spice.
