Octomore 16.2 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made from Scottish barley peated to 101.4 PPM. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.1% ABV, without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in Oloroso sherry casks and Bordeaux wine casks, then finished in Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel casks.
The nose combines soft dried fruit, smoke, sun-baked tropical fruit, floral notes, nuts, toasted oak, honeysuckle and orange blossom. The palate follows with sweet smoke and a salty sea breeze. The finish is long, sweet and smoky, with maritime freshness and lingering woody spices.
