Octomore 16.3 is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 61.6% ABV. Its barley was grown on Church Field at Octomore Farm and peated to 189.5 PPM, so the whisky comes from a single farm.
It is matured in bourbon, sherry and Sauternes casks.
The nose has blooming heather, distant bonfire smoke, barley sugar, fresh bread, lemon zest and green apple skin. The palate brings honey, malt, toasted grain, orchard fruit, citrus and vanilla, with threads of smoke and salt. The finish is medium in length, with sweet barley, floral notes, beach bonfire smoke, citrus and a touch of minerality.
