Bruichladdich Octomore 17.1 is a super heavily peated Islay single malt, the .1 expression of the 17th Octomore series, in a 70cl bottle at 59.7% ABV.
It is distilled from 100% Scottish mainland Concerto barley, peated to 81 PPM, and matured for five years in first-fill bourbon and American whiskey barrels.
The tasting notes describe layers of intense peat, bonfire smoke, roasted malt, citrus zest, vanilla and earthy spice, followed by a long, warming finish.
