Bruichladdich – Port Charlotte 10 Year Old (70cl, 50%)

A heavily peated Islay single malt, aged for 10 years and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is peated to 40ppm phenols and made from 100% Scottish barley. The casks were selected by master distiller Jim McEwan, who settled on 50% after repeated testing, finding that it kept the best of the spirit intact and stopped the cask from dominating. It matured by the shore of Loch Indaal in the village of Port Charlotte and was bottled at the distillery with Islay spring water. It is non-chill-filtered and has natural colour, with no caramel added. The whisky joins the classic floral character of Bruichladdich with heavy peat.
