Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Pinino is a red wine of strong personality, expressing the typical character of Sangiovese from Montalcino with concentration and finesse. In the glass it shows a deep ruby colour, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum and light undergrowth and sweet tobacco, plus spicy notes adding complexity. The sip is enveloping but firm, with well-defined tannins and internal freshness balancing the fruit. It benefits from light decanting to release the aromas, at around 16-18 C. It suits structured dishes such as braised meats, red meat roasts and aged cheeses, and is also enjoyable on its own. It has structure for further ageing in the cellar while remaining enjoyable now.
