Bunnahabhain – 12 Years Old Single Malt (46.3%)

Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old is a single malt bottled at 46.3%. It was matured in bourbon casks and then finished in sherry casks, which shape the palate more than the peat does. The nose is fresh and sweet, with seaweed and malt alongside wool, charred wood, pepper and truffle. On the palate it is soft and smooth, with sherry, nuts, juicy malty sultana, citrus and apple fruit, caramel and butterscotch, and a hint of the coast. The finish is full and clean, with sherry, mocha, spice, a balanced saltiness and fresh orange.
