Bunnahabhain – 18 Year Old (70cl, 46.3%)

This is an 18-year-old Bunnahabhain single malt, bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle without chill-filtration or added colouring. The nose opens with salted caramel and sticky toffee pudding sprinkled with nutmeg, and a leathery quality emerges with time. The palate is dense and rich with sherried notes and a coastal saltiness, followed by roast chestnuts and gentle wood spice. The finish is warming and lengthy, with wood spice turning to mixed spice and salt and sherry at the very end. The whisky is described as dense and oily.
