Bunnahabhain – Stiuireadair (75cl)

Stiuireadair is a Bunnahabhain single malt from Islay, in a 75cl bottle. The name is Gaelic for helmsman and is pronounced stew-rahdur. It carries no age statement and is a tribute to the sea near the distillery. It was matured in first and second fill sherry casks in the warehouses along the Bunnahabhain coastline. Whiskies of various ages, all sherry-matured, went into the blend. The nose offers sugar, caramel, raisins and brine. The palate brings honey-roasted nuts, cinnamon, clove and a touch of salt, and the finish has sherry, chocolate and some spice.
