Burnt Ends Blended Whisky (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) (50cl, 45%)

Burnt Ends is a small-batch blended whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, bottled at 45% in a 50cl bottle. It joins spicy Tennessee rye with heavily peated Scotch single malt that was finished in sherry casks. The idea came from barbecue culture, and the bottle recalls a barbecue sauce bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colour. Spicy rye and clear peat smoke mark the nose, with a fine note of apple. On the palate come full rye spice, smoky barbecue notes and charred wood, along with pepper, mint, eucalyptus and tart tones. Peat smoke and rye spice linger in the finish.
