Bushmills 16 Year Old is a triple-distilled Irish single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, which holds a licence dating to 1608. It is bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. The whiskey is matured in three kinds of cask: ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry and port pipes, the last used for the finish. The bourbon casks are described as giving vanilla and fruit, the Oloroso dried fruit, and the port pipes dark berry and wine tannin. It is typically described as having red fruit, dried fruit, sherry and vanilla on the nose, then dark chocolate, toffee and warming spice, with a long, smooth finish of fruit and chocolate.
