A 16 year old triple-distilled Irish single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, made from 100% malted barley and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl-size 750ml bottle.
It is the distillery's three-wood malt. It spends about 15 years in bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, then is married and finished for about 9 months in port wine pipes.
Tasting notes describe a rich, aromatic nose of dried citrus with toffee and caramel. The palate brings dried fig, toasted nuts and vanilla bean, and the finish is rich and generous, with orange marmalade and chocolate.
