Buzzard's Roost Double Oak French Oak is a 7 year old bourbon from Louisville, Kentucky, bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley.
It goes through the distillery's double-oak finishing in French oak from Limousin, seasoned for 18 months and given a very light char. This is a limited release.
The nose has almond butter, a hint of sandalwood, brown sugar and warm raisins. On the palate come dark brown sugar, toffee, allspice, dark honey and dried apple, with a touch of saddle leather at the back.
