Cadenhead Fettercairn 19 Year Old 2006 (70cl, 46%)

This is a Highland single malt from Fettercairn, bottled by Cadenhead, which describes itself as Scotland's oldest independent bottler. It was distilled in 2006 and matured for 19 years in ex-bourbon barrels. The spirit dates from the period between 1995 and 2009 when Fettercairn used stainless-steel condensers. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose offers vanilla, crème brûlée, nutmeg, white grapes, yellow plums, gooseberries and Galia melon. The palate is creamy, with walnut skins, almonds, peach pits, allspice and quince jelly. The finish is medium, with vanilla, cloves and coconut.
