This is a 10 year old Glentauchers single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2011 and bottled by Cadenhead in 2021 at 46%. It is one of 1,320 bottles.
The whisky was matured in a mix of casks: half Bourbon, a quarter Manzanilla sherry and a quarter Oloroso sherry.
The nose brings vanilla, almonds and cream from the American oak, with rich fruit from the Oloroso and a crisp, dry, salty note from the Manzanilla. The palate runs to dessert flavours, dried fruit, malted rye bread and sticky toffee pudding, and the finish offers crème brûlée, golden raisins and fruit and nut chocolate.
