A single malt from Caol Ila on Islay, bottled by Cadenhead's at 57.3% after 11 years in cask. It is an unpeated Caol Ila, which is unusual for the distillery.
The whisky matured in second-fill and third-fill ex-wine casks. A shorter fermentation produces cloudy worts, which give a creamy, praline-like feel in the mouth, and the stills are only partly filled to bring out fresh green apple and spicy accents.
It is described as pairing the richness of nuts with the crispness of orchard fruit.
