Cadenhead's Fettercairn 19 Year Old (46%)

This is a 19 year old Fettercairn bottled by Cadenhead's at 46% ABV. Fettercairn sits in the eastern Highlands, and its stills are fitted with cooling rings that let water run down the neck of the copper still. The source of the distillery's lighter, fruitier spirit is the extra contact between vapour and copper. Cadenhead's, founded in 1842 as William Cadenhead Ltd, bottles from single casks or small batches. This one is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose combines dried fruit and soft spice over an underlying sweetness. The palate is full and mature, with vanilla and a nutty depth. The finish is long, with gentle warmth and lingering sweetness.
